GES Requests Submission of Staff Personal Files for Job Evaluation Exercise

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed all Regional Directors of Education to submit the personal files of staff members as part of a nationwide Job Evaluation Exercise aimed at validating and updating personnel records under the new Scheme of Service.

In a letter dated June 8, 2026, and signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi (Mrs.), Deputy Director-General (Management Services) on behalf of the Director-General, sighted by Teachers Resource Pack, GES stated that the exercise is being undertaken in collaboration with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) and the Public Services Commission (PSC).

According to the letter, the exercise forms part of the implementation arrangements for the new Scheme of Service and seeks to ensure that the records of all staff are accurate and up to date.

Regional Directors have been instructed to liaise with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education within their respective regions to collect and forward staff personal files to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Division Secretariat at the GES Headquarters.

Required Documents

GES indicated that each staff personal file should contain, at a minimum, the following documents:

1. Letter of Appointment

2. Completed and signed Personal Record Form

3. Certified true copies of Academic and Professional Certificates

4. Copies of all Promotion Letters

5. Any other relevant personnel documents relating to career progression and status within the Service

The Service emphasized that all files should be carefully vetted for completeness and arranged according to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District categories before submission to facilitate the evaluation process.

Management noted that the assignment is time-bound and crucial to the successful implementation of the new Scheme of Service. Consequently, all Regional Education Directorates have been urged to treat the exercise as a priority and ensure that the required documents reach the HRMD Headquarters within the stipulated schedule.

GES expressed appreciation in advance for the cooperation and support of all stakeholders in ensuring the successful completion of the exercise.

The directive has been copied to key officials at the GES Headquarters, including the Director-General, Deputy Director-General (Q&A), Director of HRMD, Chief Internal Auditor, and the Acting Director of Finance.GES Requests Submission of Staff Personal Files for Job Evaluation Exercise
