Revised 2023 Academic Calendar for KG/Primary & JHS Finally Released, Check the number of weeks and date for Vacation 

On January 12, 2023, Ghana Education Service in a release, called for a consultative meeting with Stakeholders on the 2023 Academic Calendar.

The day of the Consultative Meeting was same as the day for the finalization of negotiations on the 2023 base pay.

Nothing was heard after the meeting on the aforementioned date until today Thursday February 1, 2023, where a new calendar purported to be the revised Academic Calendar for the 2023 Academic year is released on the public space.

In the said revised 2023 academic calendar,  Schools are to open for 11 weeks as it starts from January 10, 2023 and ends on Thursday, March 24, 2023 for KG, Primary and Junior High School.

According to the New Academic calendar, Public Basic Schools are to vacate on Friday, March 24, 2023 and resume on Monday, April 3, 2023 for the Second term of the 2023 Academic Year.

 

Directors are therefore directed to ensure that Heads of Schools for Basic and Second Cycle Schools in their respective regions take note of the provisions in the announced dates and comply accordingly to facilitate a smooth running of the academic year.
