An assistant headteacher of Mpatasie D/A Primary, a town situated in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region of Ghana, is reported dead after a Galamsey pit collapsed on him.
An assistant headteacher of Mpatasie D/A Basic, a town situated in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region of Ghana, is reported dead after a Galamsey pit collapsed on him.
According 3news.com, Mr. Akwasi Anane who is believed to be in his late forties went to the galamsey site in the late hours of Tuesday, October 4, 2022, only to meet his untimely demise as the pit collapsed on him.
Reports from the District NADMO’s office indicate that, the assistant headteacher was supervising an illegal small scale mining (Galamsey) activity on his site but the portion of the pit he was standing collapsed.
The body has therefore been taken to the morgue of the St. Martin Hospital at Agroyesum.
