GES to Hold Promotion Examinations for Teachers on December 29th and 30th, 2025
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the dates for its annual promotion examinations for eligible teachers. The written examinations are scheduled to take place on Monday, December 29th, 2025, and Tuesday, December 30th, 2025.
The announcement, contained in a memo dated 6th December 2025, and signed by Munawaru Issahaque (PhD), Ag. Deputy Director-General (Q & A) for the Ag. Director-General, states that the examinations are in accordance with the annual promotion cycle for teachers.

Important Directives for Candidates
All candidates who are eligible to write the promotion examination are required to report at the designated examination centres no later than 08:30 AM on both days.
Essential Requirements:
• Candidates must come with their original Ghana ID card.
• Candidates must bring any other required materials.
The document indicates that the examination venue, along with the list of eligible candidates and invigilation rosters, will be communicated later.
Dissemination of Information
The GES has directed all Regional Directors of Education to ensure that this crucial information reaches all schools and teachers within their jurisdiction promptly.
Furthermore, the teacher unions—GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT—have been specifically requested to disseminate the information to their members and assist in encouraging all eligible teachers to participate in the promotion exercise.
